IPOH, Perak, 8 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Sultan of Perak, DYMM Paduka Seri Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah Al-Maghfur-Lah, officiated the Satria Perkasa Memorial Monument at the Northern Brigade General Operations Force (PGA) Headquarters in Ulu Kinta today.
The monument was built as a tribute by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to honour the history, service and sacrifices of PGA personnel who have defended the nation’s security and sovereignty.
A key feature of the memorial is the Fallen Warriors Panel, which commemorates 68 Northern Brigade personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty, from the Trimus Confrontation in Sarawak in 1963 to Operation Taring in Kedah and Perlis in 2020.
In his speech, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) IG Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Panglima Hj. Mohd Khalid Hj. Ismail expressed his deepest appreciation to the Sultan of Perak for graciously officiating the ceremony.
He said the PGA, formerly known as the Police Field Force, has long served as the nation’s frontline defence in safeguarding security and sovereignty. The sacrifices of its personnel throughout the communist insurgency, the Indonesia–Malaysia Confrontation and border security operations have laid the foundation for the peace enjoyed by Malaysians today.
According to him, the name Satria Perkasa aptly reflects the courage, integrity and resilience demonstrated by PGA personnel in carrying out their duties to protect the nation.
He added that the Fallen Warriors Panel serves not only as a historical record but also as a lasting reminder for future generations to honour the sacrifices of those who gave their lives in service to the country.

The monument’s three pillars symbolise the PGA’s official motto — Cekal, Berani dan Setia (Resilient, Courageous and Loyal) — which continues to guide the force in fulfilling its responsibility to safeguard national security.
The ceremony also included the signing of the commemorative plaque by the Sultan of Perak, followed by a tour of the memorial site and a meet-and-greet session with the families of fallen personnel.
Earlier, the IGP performed Friday prayers with the Sultan of Perak and distinguished guests at Masjid Saidina Abu Bakar As-Siddiq.
Also present were Acting Deputy Inspector-General of Police CP Dato’ Sri Ibrahim Darus, Perak State Secretary Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, Director of the Internal Security and Public Order Department (KDNKA) CP Dato’ Sri Mohd Yusri Hj. Hassan Basri, Perak Police Chief CP Dato’ Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin, Deputy Director of KDNKA PGA Bukit Aman DCP Dato’ Mohamad Suzrin Mohd Rodhi, Secretary of the Royal Malaysia Police DCP Dato’ Mohamad Noor Yusof Ali, Northern Brigade PGA Commander SAC Balveer Singh Mahinder Singh, senior PDRM officers and retired police personnel.
