DARES@Komuniti Gives Youth a Voice to Strengthen Unity in Labuan

LABUAN, 9 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Dialog Aman, Responsif dan Empati Sosial (DARES@Komuniti) programme is providing a platform for communities and young people in Labuan to engage in dialogue, understand differences and strengthen social cohesion.

The 2026 Federal Territory of Labuan edition was officiated by Deputy Secretary-General (Management) of the National Unity Ministry, Datuk Mohamad Azhan bin Md Amir.

The programme aims to create a space for communities to understand differing perspectives, build trust and identify common ground through constructive dialogue.

Among its key initiatives are Lensa Digital, Digital Pulse and Lensa Belia, which provide young people with opportunities to voice their views, discuss current issues and contribute as agents of positive change.

The programme also emphasises the importance of engaging in dialogue despite differences, encouraging communities to discuss disagreements without hostility and express their views without causing division.

The National Unity Ministry said young people should not only be regarded as the leaders of tomorrow, but also as voices, thinkers and leaders in strengthening unity today.

Also present were Perbadanan Labuan Deputy Chairman Tuan Simsudin bin Sidek and senior management of the Department of National Unity and Integration.
