Malaysia, COFCO strengthen strategic cooperation in palm oil sector

PUTRAJAYA, 18 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – Minister of Plantation and Commodities YB Datuk Seri Dr. Noraini Ahmad received a courtesy visit from a delegation of COFCO East Ocean Oils & Grains Industries (Zhangjiagang) Co., Ltd., led by COFCO Corporation President Mr. Bai Yong, today.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange views and explore opportunities to strengthen strategic cooperation, particularly in the palm oil sector and sustainability.

The visit also saw the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) and COFCO to strengthen collaboration in palm oil sustainability, while supporting efforts to expand industry and market ties between Malaysia and China.
