RAUB, 29 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – Ministry of Health (KKM) Secretary-General YBhg. Datuk Seri Hj. Hasnol Zam Zam bin Hj. Ahmad conducted a working visit to Pahang, with a focus on food safety and quality standards at a frozen durian processing facility approved for exports to China.
The visit began at Five Stars Fruits (M) Sdn. Bhd., a frozen durian processing facility approved by KKM for the export of frozen durian to China.
During the visit, Hasnol Zam Zam had the opportunity to observe the processing of frozen durian in accordance with food safety and quality standards set by KKM.
The main objective of the visit was to assess the company’s compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) certification in line with the requirements of the importing country.
The visit also covered raw material controls, production process controls, premises and equipment hygiene, temperature and cold chain management, finished product storage and record management, which are key components of a food safety assurance system.

Attention was also given to the implementation of a product traceability system to ensure the movement of durian raw materials can be tracked from their source through to the finished product and export stage.
The visit highlighted the importance of monitoring and compliance with international food safety standards to ensure products are safe, of good quality and able to meet global market requirements, in line with KKM’s role in safeguarding food safety and quality in the market.
Also present were KKM Deputy Director-General of Health (Food Safety and Quality) YBrs. Ts. Zailina binti Abdul Majid; Pahang State Health Director YBrs. Dr. Haji Saiful Azlan bin Haji Sharif; Pahang State Health Department Deputy Director of Health (Food Safety and Quality) YBrs. Encik Mahindera bin Abdul Manaf; and Five Stars Fruits (M) Sdn. Bhd. Factory Manager Encik Goh Kok Yong.
