PUTRAJAYA, 3 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) and the National Service Training Department (JLKN) discussed the future direction of the National Service Training Programme (PLKN) 3.0, including a proposal to recognise eligible former trainees through merit awards.
KPT Secretary-General YBhg. Datuk Ts. Dr. Hj. Aminuddin Hassim received a courtesy call from JLKN Director-General YBhg. Major General Datuk Marzuki bin Hj. Mokhtar and his delegation at the ministry today.
The meeting provided an opportunity for JLKN to brief KPT on the implementation of PLKN 3.0, while both sides exchanged views on the programme’s development and direction in shaping a younger generation that is disciplined, resilient and possesses a strong sense of national identity.

Discussions also covered a proposal to award merit points to former PLKN trainees who meet the stipulated criteria. The initiative is among the measures being explored to recognise trainees’ participation and experience in the programme.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi, the engagement focused on strengthening discussions between KPT and JLKN on the development of PLKN 3.0 and potential recognition for its former trainees. – The Capital Post
