SIBU, 3 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Health (KKM) highlighted the role of Jalan Lanang Health Clinic in providing comprehensive primary healthcare services to about 66,000 residents in its operational area.
Health Deputy Minister YB Dato Hajjah Hanifah Hajar Taib visited the clinic today as part of the Borneo Health Tour Series 4, where she was briefed on its operations and toured the facilities and surrounding areas.
Operating since 10 January 2005, Jalan Lanang Health Clinic is a Type 3 Health Clinic built on a 1.5168-hectare site. The facility continues the legacy of healthcare services previously provided by Poliklinik Lau King Howe.
The clinic provides comprehensive primary healthcare covering promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services. These include outpatient treatment, maternal and child health, pharmacy, medical laboratory services, diagnostic imaging and radiology, rehabilitation, dietary counselling, counselling and dental services.
It also provides expanded-scope services including the One Stop Centre for Addiction (OSCA), Community Geriatrics (GEKO), Palliative Home Care and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) services.

During the visit, Hanifah was received by Jalan Lanang Health Clinic head Dr Lee Kim Yen and clinic staff. The visit also provided an opportunity to review staff welfare and the delivery of healthcare services to patients.
KKM said it remains committed to strengthening primary healthcare services in the Sibu Division through facility improvements, better service delivery and the provision of a conducive, safe and sustainable treatment environment.
Also present were Sarawak Deputy State Health Director (Public Health) YBrs. Dr Nazarudin bin Bahari and Public Health Medicine Specialist at the Sibu Divisional Health Office YBrs. Dr Aren Sinedeh Anak Lemin.
