SERDANG, 7 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – MAHA 2026 has highlighted Malaysia’s efforts to strengthen agro-tourism while supporting the country’s food security agenda through a technology-driven and resilient agri-food ecosystem.
The closing ceremony of the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agro-tourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2026 was attended by MOTAC Secretary-General YBhg. Dato’ Shaharuddin bin Abu Sohot at Dewan D2, MAEPS Serdang, Selangor, on Sunday (6 September).
The ceremony was officiated by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim.
Organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM), MAHA 2026 carried the theme “Penciptaan Nilai Demi Keterjaminan Makanan” (Value Creation for Food Security), highlighting the importance of a resilient, technology-based agri-food ecosystem.

The exhibition also supported the development of Malaysia’s agro-tourism sector, with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) continuing to support strategic collaborations to strengthen the promotion of destinations and agro-tourism activities as key attractions within Malaysia’s tourism industry.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia, the ministry remains committed to strengthening agro-tourism while supporting efforts towards food security. – The Capital Post
