MIRI, 12 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Works Ministry (KKR) is pushing for faster resolution of land acquisition, site handover and construction issues affecting Work Package Contract 11 (WPC 11) of the Pan Borneo Highway Sarawak.
KKR Secretary-General YBhg. Dato’ Seri Azman bin Ibrahim conducted a site visit and attended a special briefing on the land acquisition status and progress of WPC 11 at the Lambir Section on Friday.
The visit focused on outstanding issues affecting project implementation, with each issue required to be translated into clear action, assigned to a responsible party and accompanied by a firm resolution timeline.
Azman also emphasised stronger coordination and integrated action among stakeholders, stressing that previously identified issues should not continue appearing in reports without being resolved.
KKR highlighted the importance of a sense of urgency, accountability and consistent follow-up to ensure decisions lead to action and measurable project progress.

The ministry noted that delays not only increase costs and affect project schedules but also postpone the social and economic benefits expected by communities in Sarawak and the country.
The Pan Borneo Highway is regarded as a key connectivity network and growth catalyst for Sarawak, making the timely resolution of bottlenecks affecting WPC 11 critical to maintaining implementation momentum.
Also present were KKR Deputy Secretary-General (Policy and Development) YBhg. Datuk Dr. Khairus Masnan bin Abdul Khalid; Sarawak Public Works Department Director YBhg. Datu Adj. Prof. Ir. Ts. Is. Gs. Br. PMr. QPr. Dr. Cassidy anak Morris; Deputy Foreign Minister and Sibuti Member of Parliament YB Dato’ Lukanisman Awang Sauni; as well as representatives from the Sarawak Land and Survey Department and Sarawak Water.
