KUALA LUMPUR, 17 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – A total of 2,373 participants from 32 museums nationwide took part in the Bermalam di Muzium 2026 programme, gaining first-hand exposure to the work of museum curators.
Held on 15 and 16 September under the theme “Kurator Muda”, the two-day programme introduced participants to various aspects of curatorial work, including exhibitions, research, collections, conservation and museum education.
Participants also took part in a nationhood talk with Akademi Kenegaraan Malaysia, knowledge-sharing sessions with curators, the Kurator Muda Fun Walk and museum exploration activities.

The programme aimed to provide participants with a deeper understanding of museums beyond their role in preserving historical artefacts, while highlighting their importance in documenting Malaysia’s history, identity and national journey.
The closing ceremony was officiated by National Unity Ministry Deputy Secretary-General (Policy and Strategic Planning) YBrs. Tuan Mohamad Sobri bin Mat Daud at Dataran Muzium Negara on Wednesday (16 September).
According to a post on the official Facebook page of the Ministry of National Unity, the programme also sought to inspire greater interest in museum and curatorial work among the younger generation. – The Capital Post
