MELAKA, 20 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – Inspector-General of Police IG Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Hj. Mohd Khalid Hj. Ismail has highlighted the crucial role of families in supporting the welfare and resilience of Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) personnel.
Mohd Khalid made the remarks when officiating the closing of the PERKEP Malaysia Thanksgiving Feast and Family Day held in conjunction with the Jelajah Wira MADANI Programme 2026 at the Melaka Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) on Saturday (19 September).
Carrying the theme “Keluarga Bahagia, Pasukan Sejahtera”, the programme organised by PERKEP Malaysia and PERKEP Melaka brought together PDRM personnel and their families to strengthen ties and recognise the support provided by family members.
Mohd Khalid said the Jelajah Wira MADANI Programme is a Malaysia MADANI initiative aimed at recognising frontliners, strengthening ties between the government and communities, fostering patriotism and raising security awareness.
He also expressed appreciation to the families of PDRM personnel for their support, prayers and sacrifices, while highlighting PERKEP’s role in strengthening personnel welfare and family wellbeing, particularly in children’s education and emotional support.
During the event, welfare contributions were presented to 20 recipients comprising senior police officers, junior police officers and retirees from the Melaka contingent who required assistance.

Earlier, PERKEP Malaysia launched its flag and mascot, followed by the presentation of prizes to winners of the flag and mascot design competitions. Various family activities were also held during the programme.
Also present were PERKEP Malaysia chairman Puan Sri Datuk (Dr.) Hjh. Munirah Che Rose; Deputy Inspector-General of Police DIG Dato’ Sri Abdul Aziz Abdul Majid and PERKEP Malaysia vice-chairman Datin Sri Selmiah Tuan Ibrahim; Melaka Police Chief DCP Datuk Wira Dzulkhairi Mukhtar and PERKEP Melaka chairman Datin Wira Diana Aini Mokter.
Deputy Higher Education Minister and Hang Tuah Jaya MP Tuan Adam Adli Abd Halim, PDRM directors, police commissioners, state police chiefs, commanders and commandants were also present.
