PUTRAJAYA, 29 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – Eligible patients nationwide will receive free delivery of follow-up medicines for one year under the Ubat Melalui Pos (UMP) initiative beginning 1 October 2026.
Communications Minister Dato’ Seri Fahmi Fadzil and Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Haji Dzulkefly Ahmad launched the financing initiative at Menara Komunikasi on Tuesday.
The initiative is a strategic collaboration between the Ministry of Communications through the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM).
Under the programme, delivery costs for follow-up medicines for eligible patients will be fully covered for one year, allowing them to receive medication without having to visit healthcare facilities.
The initiative is expected to benefit about 87,000 patients nationwide each month, with estimated delivery costs amounting to RM5 million.

MCMC will coordinate the implementation, while Pos Malaysia Berhad will handle medicine deliveries. KKM will be responsible for determining patient eligibility and preparing medication supplies.
Also present were Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching, Communications Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah, KKM Secretary-General Datuk Seri Haji Hasnol Zam Zam Haji Ahmad, MCMC Managing Director Abdul Karim Fakir Ali and Pos Malaysia Chairman Tan Sri Syed Faisal Albar Syed A.R Albar.
