Deputy Minister Engages Sabah Contractors, Launches Discounted MADANI Sales

SABAH, 11 October 2026 (The Capital Post) – Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Datuk Mohamad Alamin attended a community engagement programme with Kampung Binsulok residents and local Bumiputera contractors in Sabah, aimed at addressing business challenges and improving access to government support.

The programme, held at SK Kampung Binsulok, was organised by the Contractor Service Centre (PKK) to provide a platform for Bumiputera contractors to share the challenges they face in the construction industry.

The engagement also focused on expanding access to government initiatives and strengthening the sustainability of local contractors’ businesses.

During the event, Mohamad officiated a special “Happy Hour” sales promotion under the KUSKOP MADANI Sales Programme (JMK), offering discounts of up to 30 per cent to help ease the cost of living for residents in the surrounding community.

The discounted sales initiative was introduced to provide local households with opportunities to purchase goods at more affordable prices.

The programme also featured Pocket Talk sessions conducted by the Cooperative Institute of Malaysia (IKMa) and the Malaysia Co-operative Societies Commission (SKM).

These sessions aimed to raise public awareness of the roles, services and support available through both agencies, particularly in promoting cooperative development and community participation.

The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) reaffirmed its commitment to empowering Bumiputera contractors, supporting local entrepreneurs and improving the well-being of rural communities.
