KUALA NERUS, 6 November 2026 (The Capital Post) – A total of 2,157 Wi-Fi access points have been installed across three main locations at Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) as part of a government initiative to strengthen high-speed internet connectivity for students and university personnel.

The installation forms part of the Universal Service Provision (USP) Wi-Fi Public Higher Education Institution (IPTA) project, aimed at improving digital infrastructure and supporting academic activities at public universities.

Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching inspected the project’s implementation at UniSZA’s Gong Badak Campus in Kuala Nerus, Terengganu, on 5 November.

The project also includes a 4G telecommunications tower, which began operations in October 2026 to further improve mobile network connectivity within the university environment.

The upgraded infrastructure is intended to provide students, lecturers and university personnel with better access to high-capacity internet services for teaching, learning and research activities.
