BANGI: A mysterious stench led to the discovery of a dead woman inside a hostel room of a public university on Sunday.
Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaid Hassan said police received an emergency call at 12.43pm from the hostel warden regarding a foul odour emitting from the said room.
“A police team was sent to the scene and found the 34-year-old deceased on the floor next to the bed and there were tell-tale signs that the body was already into the decomposition process,” he said in a statement here.
Upon inspection of the room, Mohd Zaid said there was no sign of foul play and the deceased belongings were untouched.

“Based on the information gathered, the deceased had diabetes since she was 16 and had been using insulin. The body was sent to the Serdang Hospital for post-mortem to determine the cause of death.” he added.
