SHAH ALAM, 16 May 2026 (The Capital Post) — Canon Marketing Malaysia has unveiled a new content creation lineup featuring the EOS R6 V full-frame camera and the RF20-50mm f/4L IS USM PZ lens, marking the company’s first-ever professional-grade L-series lens equipped with built-in power zoom technology.
Designed to meet the growing demands of modern creators, the new EOS R6 V combines advanced still photography and video capabilities in a body optimised specifically for video production. The camera features a built-in cooling fan, vertical tripod socket and 7K Open Gate recording support, allowing creators greater flexibility when producing content across multiple social media platforms.
Paired with the RF20-50mm f/4L IS USM PZ lens, the setup offers a compact and travel-friendly solution without compromising performance. The lens provides a versatile 20-50mm zoom range suitable for wide cinematic shots and tighter framing, while its built-in Power Zoom enables smooth and seamless zoom transitions for professional-looking footage.
Edward Chang, Head of Image Communication Business Division at Canon Marketing Malaysia, said the latest lineup was developed to support creators working across various platforms and formats.
He noted that the EOS R6 V and RF20-50mm f/4L IS USM PZ are built to deliver both performance and ease of use, whether for professional productions or daily content creation, reflecting Canon’s commitment to innovation and its “Delighting You Always” philosophy.
The EOS R6 V’s 7K Open Gate recording uses the camera’s full sensor area, giving users greater flexibility when repurposing horizontal footage into vertical content without requiring multiple shoots. Canon also stated that the built-in cooling fan enables recording durations up to three times longer compared to the EOS R6 Mark III when shooting in 7K Open Gate MP4 mode.
Built with creators in mind, the EOS R6 V features a dedicated vertical tripod socket and an automatically reorientating user interface, making vertical shooting more seamless for social media content production.
Both the camera and lens are lightweight and equipped with advanced image stabilisation technology for smoother handheld shooting. The EOS R6 V combines five-axis in-body image stabilisation with Digital Movie IS, while the RF20-50mm lens includes Optical IS support to improve stability during motion shots and low-light shooting.
Canon also highlighted the system’s strong still photography capabilities. The EOS R6 V features a 32.5-megapixel full-frame sensor capable of capturing high-detail images with excellent dynamic range, while supporting up to 40 frames per second continuous shooting through its electronic shutter.
For self-shooting and remote production, the camera includes a front recording button and tally lamp, while remote controls can be accessed through the Camera Connect app or Canon’s new Wireless Remote Controller BR-E2.
Canon said the EOS R6 V and RF20-50mm f/4L IS USM PZ combination offers creators a cost-efficient and professional-grade solution suitable for a wide range of creative workflows, from filmmaking to digital content production. – The Capital Post
