KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27 — Local entertainer Caprice has filed a RM10 million defamation lawsuit against former economy minister Rafizi Ramli, alleging that the latter failed to apologise or remove social media posts said to contain false claims.
In a statement issued yesterday, Caprice said his lawyer, Mohd Rezan Ezra, had lodged the writ on his behalf. The suit is expected to be served tomorrow.
According to Caprice, the legal action follows two letters of demand dated February 20 and 23, which called for an apology and the removal of the alleged defamatory postings.
The entertainer is seeking:
-
RM10 million in damages
-
A public apology
-
An injunction to prevent further publication of the statements

Caprice said he hopes the lawsuit will clear his name and address what he described as damaging allegations made against him.
Further developments are expected once the writ is formally served.
