Deputy Education Minister Reviews Progress of Perlis Sports School Project

PERLIS, 10 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – Deputy Education Minister YB Wong Kah Woh conducted a working visit to the construction site of Sekolah Sukan Malaysia Perlis to assess the progress of the project and receive updates on its implementation.

During the visit, Wong was briefed by representatives of Malaysia Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB) on the current status of the development before inspecting the construction works on site.

According to a Facebook post by Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia, the visit formed part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to ensure the successful delivery of key education infrastructure projects aimed at strengthening the nation’s human capital development agenda.

Also present were Deputy Secretary-General (Planning and Development) Dato’ Dr. Megat Sany Megat Ahmad Supian, representatives from MRCB and officials from the Ministry of Education.

The ministry said the construction of Sekolah Sukan Malaysia Perlis is expected to serve as a catalyst for the development of national sporting talent while contributing to local economic growth.

Once completed, the school is anticipated to strengthen the country’s sports development ecosystem by providing aspiring young athletes with access to quality training facilities and educational opportunities, helping nurture a new generation of competitive and high-performing sports talents.
