KUCHING, 17 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – Deputy Inspector-General of Police DIG Dato’ Sri Abdul Aziz Abdul Majid visited Sarawak police personnel and their families on Thursday as part of efforts to assess their welfare and residential needs.
During the visit, Abdul Aziz met Sergeant Siti Faridah Joni from the Logistics and Technology Department (General Policing), who has been undergoing treatment for ovarian cancer for the past two years.
He also met her son, Awang Fa’id Hamizan Abdullah Awang Naim, who was diagnosed with Classical Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2025 and is continuing to receive treatment.
Abdul Aziz presented a contribution to the family and offered words of encouragement and moral support.

The Deputy IGP later visited the Tabuan Jaya Police Quarters Complex to inspect the condition of residential facilities and gain a better understanding of the needs and welfare of personnel living there.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), the visit reflected the police leadership’s attention to the welfare of its personnel and their families. – The Capital Post
