India Sends Strong Message on Terrorism at Kuala Lumpur Dialogue with MPs Delegation

Estimate Reading Time: 3 minutes

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indian Cultural Centre, Kuala Lumpur – June 1, 2025 (TheCapitalPost) In a rare and powerful display of political unity, a multi-party Indian parliamentary delegation met with members of the Indian diaspora in Malaysia today to deliver a resounding message: India stands united against terrorism. The dialogue, themed “Zero Tolerance to Terrorism”, was hosted at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indian Cultural Centre and drew stakeholders from across the Indian Malaysian community — Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati , Sindhi, Malayalee, and other linguistic and faith backgrounds.

The event was part of a special outreach initiative by the Government of India to rally global Indian communities in the wake of the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, on April 22, 2025, where 26 innocent lives were lost in a cowardly strike claimed by a Pakistan-based terrorist outfit.

Delegation Reflects India’s Democratic and Secular Fabric

The visiting delegation represented India’s democratic strength and pluralism. It included:

● Dr. Hemang Joshi (BJP, Vadodara)

● Salman Khurshid (INC, former Foreign Minister)

● Aparajita Sarangi (BJP)

● Brij Lal (BJP)

● Pradhan Baruah (BJP)

● Sanjay Kumar Jha (JDU)

● Dr. John Brittas (CPI-M)

● Abhishek Banerjee (Trinamool Congress)

Though politically diverse, the message from all Members of Parliament was strikingly unanimous — India will not remain silent in the face of terrorism.

Pahalgam: A Turning Point for India

Speaker after speaker cited the April 22 Pahalgam massacre as a tipping point. They condemned the continued use of terrorism as a strategic tool by Pakistan’s military-intelligence establishment. Former Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid declared, “The use of religion to justify such acts is not just immoral — it is un-Islamic. India will not tolerate this anymore.”

Abhishek Banerjee, a rising leader from the Trinamool Congress and frequent critic of the Modi government, made an unusually strong statement: “On Kashmir, there is no space for politics — India must act decisively, and we must work to reclaim Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).”

His stance was met with resounding applause, reinforcing the rare bipartisan consensus emerging in the wake of the Pahalgam attack.

India Wants Peace, Not Provocation

The overarching tone from all MPs was measured but firm. India does not seek to escalate the situation, but if provoked further, it will deliver a decisive blow. The delegation dismissed Pakistan’s habitual demand for “independent investigations” into such attacks as a deflection tactic, citing a long history of scuttled probes.

A Message to Malaysia: Stand Against Terror

In their outreach to the Malaysian government and society, the MPs urged Malaysia to take a strong stand against terrorism in all its forms — state-sponsored or otherwise. They emphasized shared values of peace and coexistence and reminded the audience that Malaysia, too, lost one of its own — Hemalatha Kasipillay — in the 2008 Mumbai Taj Hotel attacks.

An Appeal to Malaysian Hindu Pilgrims

As someone deeply connected to both Malaysia and India, I wish to appeal to fellow Malaysian Hindu pilgrims who plan to undertake the sacred Amarnath Yatra this year. In light of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam and the heightened security risks in the region, I urge you to reconsider or defer your pilgrimage until there is full assurance of safety. Our spiritual journeys are important — but so is our collective well-being. Let us wait for a time when peace returns, and the path to Lord Shiva’s shrine can once again be walked without fear.

An United Front Against Terror

This dialogue was more than just a political outreach — it was a clarion call to unity. Despite their ideological differences, these Indian MPs spoke with one voice. And their message was crystal clear: India is united. India is resilient. And India will never bow to terror.

As Malaysians with deep Indian roots, it is our collective responsibility to echo this message and ensure that terror finds no place — not in Kashmir, not in Kuala Lumpur, not anywhere in the world.
