The Senior Minister (Security) gave an assurance that the law will be applied equally to everyone.

Ismail Sabri’s statement follows criticisms levelled at a reality TV show that featured numerous celebrity judges, including his son Gaddafi Ismail Sabri (popularly known as Dafi), allegedly not adhering to Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs).

“The National Security Council (NSC) is investigating. No one is above the law.

“Action will be taken against anyone who violates SOP, no matter who they are. Even if that person is my son,” Ismail Sabri told Malaysiakini on Wednesday (June 9).

After the first episode of the singing programme All Together Now Malaysia aired on Sunday (June 6), social media users claimed the show had violated SOP because some celebrities did not wear face masks.

On Tuesday (June 8), NSC director-general Datuk Mohd Rabin Basir was reported to have ordered an investigation on an entertainment show produced by a private broadcaster over allegations of SOP violations.

Astro later suspended the reality show following an investigation by the Communications and Multimedia Ministry over allegations of SOP violations.

Astro Malay entertainment content development strategy vice-president Raqim Ahmad said the fate of the programme, which features a jury panel of 50, would only be known after the investigation is completed.-The Star
