Junior Innovathon 2026 returns with 2,020 entries to nurture student innovation

PUTRAJAYA, 4 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – The second season of Junior Innovathon 2026 has received 2,020 entries, with 50 top teams set to compete in a programme highlighting students’ creativity, innovation and STEM talent.

The launch ceremony was officiated by Economy Minister YB Tuan Haji Akmal Nasrullah bin Haji Mohd Nasir, with Education Ministry Secretary-General YBhg. Dato’ Wan Hashim bin Wan Rahim in attendance.

This season also introduces a new category for Students with Special Educational Needs (MBPK), expanding opportunities for more students to showcase their abilities and innovative ideas.

The programme will begin airing on 20 September 2026, every Sunday at 9pm on TV1 and RTMKlik.

According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia, the programme is part of efforts to foster creativity and innovation among students through STEM. – The Capital Post
