SEOUL, Feb 23 — Iconic K-pop project group I.O.I is officially reuniting to celebrate their 10th debut anniversary, with a highly anticipated comeback scheduled for May 2026, marking their first group activity in nearly nine years.

Swing Entertainment confirmed that nine original members—Im Na-young, Chungha, Kim Se-jeong, Jung Chae-yeon, Kim So-hye, Yoo Yeon-jung, Choi Yu-jung, Kim Do-yeon, and Jeon Somi—have finalized plans to release a new album this spring. The agency will manage all aspects of the reunion project.

Two original members, Kang Mina and Joo Kyung-chun, will not participate due to scheduling conflicts, making this a nine-member reunion. The comeback commemorates a decade since I.O.I’s debut through Mnet’s Produce 101, a project that launched the careers of all members.

Since disbanding with a farewell concert in January 2017, the members have pursued successful solo careers in music, acting, and variety shows. Fans are eager to see how their individual growth and experience will translate into group synergy.

During their initial 11-month run, I.O.I achieved major hits including Dream Girls, Whatta Man, Very Very Very, and Downpour, winning rookie awards at the Mnet Asian Music Awards, Golden Disc Awards, and Seoul Music Awards, cementing their reputation as a “national girl group.”

The reunion will also feature a Seoul concert and an Asia tour, allowing fans to experience both classic hits and new material. Further details on the comeback schedule and album will be announced in the coming weeks.
