King Briefed on Malaysia’s Higher Education Agenda

KUALA LUMPUR, 10 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, was briefed on the country’s higher education agenda and the latest developments involving the Sultan Ibrahim Chair of Malay Studies at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU), China.

His Majesty granted an audience at Istana Negara on Thursday to Higher Education Minister YB Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir and a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT).

During the audience, His Majesty received updates on Malaysia’s higher education agenda as well as developments concerning the Sultan Ibrahim Chair of Malay Studies at BFSU.

The chair reflects His Majesty’s support and patronage for efforts to expand Malay studies and strengthen the international standing of the Malay language, culture and civilisation.

Also present were KPT Secretary-General Datuk Ts. Dr. Hj. Aminuddin Hassim; Director-General of Higher Education Datuk Prof. Dr. Azlinda Azman; and Deputy Director-General of Higher Education (Academic and Research) Prof. Dr. Zainal Amin Ayub.

According to a post on the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Higher Education, the audience included updates on the national higher education agenda and the Sultan Ibrahim Chair of Malay Studies in China. – The Capital Post
