KKR Task Force Meeting Focuses on Juru–Sungai Dua Traffic Dispersal Project

PENANG, 26 May 2026 (The Capital Post) — The Ministry of Works (KKR) today held the Special Project Steering Committee (Task Force) Meeting No. 5/2026 for the Traffic Dispersal Project between Juru Toll Plaza and Sungai Dua Toll Plaza along the North-South Expressway (PLUS) and surrounding areas.

The meeting was chaired by KKR Secretary-General Dato’ Seri Azman Ibrahim and focused on coordinating project implementation, monitoring progress and discussing current issues related to the project.

Also present were Deputy Secretary-General (Policy and Development) Datuk Dr. Khairus Masnan Abdul Khalid, Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) Director-General Ir. Hadzmir Yusoff, PLUS Malaysia Berhad Managing Director Datuk Nik Airina Nik Jaafar, senior ministry and agency officials, as well as representatives from the Penang state government.

According to KKR, the meeting focused on ensuring the smooth implementation of the Juru–Sungai Dua Traffic Dispersal Project while addressing traffic congestion issues along the route.

The session also discussed the project’s estimated cost to ensure it could be finalised at an agreed rate, alongside accelerating negotiations related to the Seventh Supplemental Concession Agreement (SCA7) involving stakeholders such as PLUS Berhad, the Public Private Partnership Unit (UKAS) and the Ministry of Finance.

The ministry noted that the initiative aligns with the MADANI Government’s aspiration to ensure strategic national projects are implemented systematically, effectively and for the benefit of the people.
