Malaysia, Palestine Deepen Academic Cooperation

PUTRAJAYA, 17 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – Malaysia and Palestine are set to strengthen strategic cooperation in higher education following a courtesy call between Higher Education Minister Dato’ Seri Raja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir and Palestine’s Ambassador to Malaysia, H.E. Jehad Alqedra.

According to a Facebook post by Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi, the meeting served as a platform to translate Malaysia’s longstanding commitment and solidarity with Palestine into more substantial, practical and high-impact academic initiatives.

The discussions focused on efforts to enhance sustainable educational assistance mechanisms, including the continuation of support for medical students from Gaza through clinical elective placement programmes.

Both sides also explored opportunities to expand institutional and university-level collaborations to boost academic mobility and joint research initiatives.

Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi said strengthening academic diplomacy and institutional support would enable Malaysia to continue contributing meaningfully to rebuilding Palestine’s intellectual capacity and supporting the country’s future development.
