KUALA LUMPUR, 9 October 2026 (The Capital Post) – Malaysia is strengthening the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) across industries to enhance economic competitiveness and support its ambition of becoming an AI Nation by 2030.
Digital Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Fabian Bigar highlighted the importance of translating AI development into practical economic and industrial outcomes during his keynote address at Siemens Tech Summit Kuala Lumpur 2026 on Thursday (8 October).
The keynote, titled “From Blueprint to Breakthrough: Progress, Partnerships, and the Path Ahead for Malaysia’s MD2030 Journey”, was delivered at The Glass Box, The MET Corporate Towers in Kuala Lumpur.
Held under the theme “Make AI Real”, the summit brought together industry leaders, manufacturers, technology providers and stakeholders to explore developments in Industrial AI and its applications across Malaysia’s industrial and infrastructure sectors.
Discussions focused on the use of AI in manufacturing and data centre infrastructure, as well as how data and emerging technologies can support smarter, more resilient and sustainable operations.
The summit also examined opportunities to improve operational efficiency and strengthen industrial competitiveness through wider Industrial AI adoption.

In line with the Malaysia Digital 2030 (MD2030) agenda, Fabian emphasised the importance of ensuring AI adoption delivers measurable value to businesses and the broader economy.
Achieving these outcomes requires a strong foundation of skilled talent, digital infrastructure, domestic technological capabilities and closer collaboration between government, industry, academia and technology companies.
The approach is intended to encourage responsible AI adoption while supporting economic transformation and improving Malaysia’s competitiveness in an increasingly technology-driven global economy.
