KUALA LUMPUR, 17 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Defence Ministry (MINDEF) made its first appearance at Keretapi Sarong 2026, bringing military music and cultural performances closer to the public at Tun Razak Exchange (TRX).
The programme, organised by LOCCO (Local Companion), was held on Wednesday (16 September), with MINDEF participating through an initiative by the Defence Ministry Civil Servants Club (KAKEP) in collaboration with the Royal Malaysian Air Force Music and Arts Branch (MUKES).
MINDEF’s participation featured a Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM) drumline performance, dances by KAKEP and the Air Force Arts Organisation (BKTU), as well as a performance by the KAKEP band.

The performances provided a platform for defence personnel to showcase their talents while engaging with the wider community through arts and culture.
MINDEF said its inaugural participation also expanded the ministry’s involvement in community programmes while strengthening ties between defence personnel and the public.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Defence Malaysia, the participation reflected the spirit of culture, unity and togetherness at the heart of Keretapi Sarong. – The Capital Post
