MITRA Unveils Six New Initiatives With RM65.5 Million Allocation for Indian Community

KUALA LUMPUR, 29 May 2026 (The Capital Post) — Human Resources Minister Ramanan Ramakrishna today announced six new MITRA 2026 initiatives with a total allocation of RM65.5 million aimed at strengthening the socioeconomic development of the Indian community.

The initiatives focus on key areas including education, entrepreneurship, healthcare, welfare and community development.

The announcement was made during a press conference attended by Human Resources Ministry Deputy Secretary-General (Policy) Dr Mohd Shaharin Umar and MITRA Director-General Raveendran Nair.

The six programmes introduced are CELIK MADANI, KALVI MADANI, UYARVU MADANI, MADANI Rakyat Komuniti India, AROGYA MADANI and THUNAI MADANI.

According to the ministry, the initiatives are expected to benefit thousands of recipients within the Indian community, particularly those from the B40 and M40 income groups.

The ministry said the programmes reflect the MADANI Government’s continued commitment to expanding access to education, economic opportunities, healthcare assistance and social support through a more inclusive, structured and high-impact approach.
