KUALA LUMPUR, 17 July 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) reinforced its commitment to advancing Malaysia’s digitalisation and artificial intelligence (AI) agenda through its participation in the Penang Digitalisation-AI Conference & Exhibition (PDX 2026), held from 15 to 16 July.
Organised by Operion Ecommerce & Software Sdn. Bhd., the two-day conference was supported by the Ministry of Digital and MOSTI, bringing together industry players, government agencies, entrepreneurs and technology experts to discuss the latest developments in digital transformation and AI.
The conference was officially opened by Penang State Executive Councillor for Tourism and Creative Economy, Wong Hon Wai.
During the event, MOSTI conducted a knowledge-sharing session highlighting the ministry’s policies, strategic initiatives and programmes. The presentation was delivered by Boniface Anak Edwin Manung, Secretary of MOSTI’s Technology Transfer and R&D Commercialisation Division (PTK), focusing on government efforts to strengthen the national technology and innovation ecosystem while accelerating the commercialisation of research and development (R&D) outcomes.

MOSTI also operated an exhibition booth throughout the conference to promote its flagship initiatives, including the MySTI Programme, the National Technology and Innovation Sandbox (NTIS), Malaysia Commercialisation Year (MCY), the National Innovation and Commercialisation Expo 2026 (NICE 2026), as well as other programmes supporting the country’s science, technology and innovation ecosystem.
The ministry said its participation in PDX 2026 reflects its continued commitment to strengthening strategic collaboration with industry partners to accelerate the commercialisation of local innovations, expand market access and investment opportunities, and drive Malaysia’s economic growth.
