PUTRAJAYA, 10 October 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad to strengthen the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme through improved financial services and international promotional efforts.
The agreement was signed on Friday (9 October) by MOTAC Secretary-General Dato’ Shaharuddin Abu Sohot and representatives of Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia’s senior management.
The strategic collaboration aims to provide MM2H applicants and participants with more accessible banking facilities, financial advisory services and efficient fixed deposit account management.
Through the partnership, both parties will work towards improving the programme’s international competitiveness by establishing a more transparent and user-friendly financial services ecosystem.
The initiative also seeks to promote Malaysia as a preferred destination for long-term residency, retirement and investment through integrated services available at the Malaysia My Second Home One Stop Centre (OSC MM2H).

The collaboration is expected to support efforts to strengthen international confidence in the MM2H programme while attracting participants who can contribute to Malaysia’s economic growth.
MOTAC also highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships in enhancing the programme’s appeal and supporting the country’s broader tourism development objectives.
The partnership aligns with the Malaysia MADANI aspirations of promoting shared prosperity and sustainable tourism development while strengthening Malaysia’s position as an attractive international destination.
