MOTAC Strengthens Bilateral Ties in Moscow Visit

MOSCOW, 18 May 2026 (The Capital Post) — Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) continued efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Malaysia and Russia through a courtesy visit by the ministry’s Secretary-General to the Embassy of Malaysia in Moscow recently.

The visit involved discussions with Malaysia’s Ambassador to Russia, Cheong Loon Lai, at the Embassy of Malaysia in Moscow.

Also present during the meeting were senior ministry officials, representatives from the Embassy of Malaysia and Tourism Malaysia Moscow.

The session focused on efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in the tourism, arts and cultural sectors, as well as broader strategic collaboration between Malaysia and the Russian Federation.

The meeting also served as a platform for both sides to exchange views on potential new areas of cooperation and initiatives aimed at strengthening the promotion of Malaysia as a preferred tourism destination for the Russian market.
