PUTRAJAYA, 26 May 2026 (The Capital Post) — The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) organised an engagement session with tourism industry players alongside the presentation ceremony for the Foreign Language Enhancement Course certificates for tour guides at Dewan Sanggar Pujangga, MOTAC Putrajaya.
The programme was attended by Deputy Secretary-General (Tourism) Chua Choon Hwa together with senior ministry officials, agency leadership and representatives from tour guide associations.
According to MOTAC, the engagement session served as a structured two-way communication platform, allowing industry players to share views and raise issues faced on the ground while discussing joint solutions towards a more sustainable tourism industry.
The event also celebrated participants who completed the Foreign Language Skills Enhancement Course involving French, German, Russian and Italian languages.

Fully funded by MOTAC, the initiative aims to produce more competent and competitive multilingual tour guides, particularly in meeting the demands of high-value tourists from European and Western markets who prioritise quality tourism experiences and storytelling.
The ministry expressed hope that such initiatives would continue strengthening Malaysia’s tourism ecosystem towards becoming more dynamic, inclusive and resilient.
