SELANGOR, 11 October 2026 (The Capital Post) – A total of 217 Ministry of National Unity personnel participated in the ministry’s National Sports Day 2026 celebration, which concluded at the INSPEN Indoor Stadium in Kajang on Thursday (8 October).
The closing ceremony was officiated by Ministry of National Unity Secretary-General Dato’ Haslina Abdul Hamid, marking the conclusion of the ministry’s sporting activities organised in conjunction with the annual National Sports Day celebration.
The event was held alongside the UNITI Sports Festival 2026, which began its competitions on 10 September and featured 14 sports and recreational activities.
The competitions included bowling, badminton, futsal, netball, volleyball, pickleball, dragon boat racing, dodgeball, table tennis, carrom, darts, dam haji, galah panjang and tug-of-war.
The variety of activities provided opportunities for ministry personnel to participate in team-based and individual sports while encouraging physical fitness and cooperation among colleagues.
The ministry highlighted the importance of National Sports Day as part of Malaysia’s broader aspiration to become a Sporting Nation, promoting regular physical activity and healthier lifestyles.

The celebration also reflected the principles of Malaysia MADANI, particularly the importance of building a healthy, active, united and respectful society through shared recreational experiences.
By bringing personnel together through sports, the programme aimed to strengthen workplace relationships, encourage teamwork and promote a culture of active living within the ministry.
The ministry also expressed its appreciation to all personnel who contributed to the successful organisation and participation in this year’s celebration.
