PUTRAJAYA, 12 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES) and Terengganu Incorporated are strengthening strategic cooperation on environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives, including climate change, carbon markets and the green economy.
NRES Secretary-General YBhg. Datuk Wira Anis Rizana binti Mohd Zainudin received a courtesy visit from the Terengganu Incorporated delegation on Friday.
The delegation was led by Group President and Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Burhanuddin Hilmi bin Mohamed @ Harun, accompanied by Group Head of Risk, Compliance and Integrity Encik Syed Ibrahim bin Sayd Othman and Assistant Vice President, Office of the Group President and Chief Executive Officer, Puan Mutiara Jusuf.
Discussions focused on potential strategic cooperation and greater alignment of sustainability agendas, particularly ahead of ESG Affairs 2026 organised by Terengganu Incorporated.
Among the areas identified for potential cooperation were climate change, carbon markets, the green economy, waste management, greening initiatives and biodiversity conservation.

The engagement also reflected efforts to strengthen cooperation between the government and corporate sector in advancing sustainable development and implementing sustainability initiatives at both national and state levels.
NRES senior officials and representatives from the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC) also participated in the discussion.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, the engagement reflects a shared commitment to strengthening government-corporate cooperation in supporting Malaysia’s sustainable development agenda. – The Capital Post
