PETRA welcomes Government initiatives announced in National Day address

PUTRAJAYA, 31 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) attended the 2026 National Day Prime Minister’s Address delivered by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) on 30 August.

In the address, the Prime Minister announced various strategic initiatives centred on public welfare and efforts to address cost-of-living pressures.

The measures include improvements to BUDI MADANI eligibility, infrastructure allocations for all types of schools, free subscriptions to AI applications, as well as efforts to accelerate treatment and reduce waiting times at government hospitals and clinics.

Economic improvements were also highlighted through an increase in the e-Invoice exemption threshold and additional special loan funds for entrepreneurs and small traders.

PETRA welcomed the continued efforts and commitment of the MADANI Government to ensure the country’s progress translates into tangible benefits for people from all walks of life.
