PUTRAJAYA, 21 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – The site for the 2026 National Day celebrations has officially been handed over, marking a key milestone in preparations for the country’s 69th National Day.
Communications Ministry Secretary-General and 2026 National Day and Malaysia Day Celebrations Working Committee chairman Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah received the site from Perbadanan Putrajaya president Dato’ Haji Mohd Sakeri Abdul Kadir at the handover ceremony held at the Tuan Azizan Zainul Abidin Auditorium, Putrajaya.
The ceremony marked the site’s readiness for the main National Day celebration, which will involve 77 contingents, 10,820 participants, 22 marching bands, 11 decorated vehicles, 328 assets, 22 electric vehicle (EV) assets and 112 live assets.

As the lead ministry for the celebrations, the Communications Ministry expressed its appreciation to Perbadanan Putrajaya and all committees and parties involved for their commitment and cooperation in ensuring preparations proceed smoothly.
The 2026 National Day celebrations are expected to further foster patriotism and love for the country among Malaysians.
Also present were Senior Undersecretary (Management) and 2026 HKHM Working Committee secretary Datuk Aminurrahim Mohamed; Chief Government Protocol Officer, International Conference Protocol and Secretariat Division, Datuk Rozainor Ramli; National Department for Culture and Arts director-general Mohd Amran Mohd Haris; Information Department director-general Erwin Khairul Ahmad; and Federal Territories Department Management Services Division director Suzana Alias.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Komunikasi, the handover marked an important step towards ensuring the smooth implementation of the 2026 National Day celebrations. – The Capital Post
