SUNGAI BULOH, June 9, 2026 (The Capital Post) – Plantation and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Noraini Ahmad today conducted a working visit to the Malaysian Rubber Research Institute (RRIM) in Sungai Buloh to review the latest advancements in research, innovation and technology development that continue to strengthen the competitiveness of Malaysia’s rubber industry.
The visit included a tour of the rubber technology exhibition pavilion, where the minister was briefed on the latest research applications and innovations supporting the industry. She also reviewed product certification programmes, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) initiatives, as well as several specialised research and testing facilities.
Among the facilities visited were the Tyre Testing Laboratory, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) Laboratory and Engineering Laboratory, which play a crucial role in supporting technological development, product testing and high-impact research within the rubber sector.

The visit reflects the commitment of the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities (KPK) to strengthening the research and development (R&D) ecosystem, accelerating technology transfer and ensuring that Malaysia’s rubber industry remains relevant, competitive and innovation-driven on the global stage.
