KUALA LUMPUR, 27 October 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Works (KKR) has been allocated RM9.736 billion in development expenditure under Budget 2027 to strengthen infrastructure projects nationwide.

Works Minister Dato’ Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi announced the allocation during his winding-up speech on Budget 2027 at the policy stage in the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday.

The development allocation represents a 3.0 per cent increase from RM9.607 billion in 2026, while the ministry’s operating expenditure allocation stands at RM1.146 billion.

Among the ministry’s priorities are accelerating major infrastructure projects, including the East Coast Expressway Phase 3 (LPT3), Central Spine Road (LTU) and Pan Borneo Highway (LPB).

For LPT3, the proposed 122-kilometre alignment connecting Kampung Gemuruh in Terengganu to Tunjong in Kelantan is undergoing documentation preparations for implementation through a public-private partnership (PPP) model.

Meanwhile, KKR is strengthening project monitoring and implementing intervention measures to address delays affecting LTU and LPB.
