PETALING JAYA, 29 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – More than 18,000 applications for additional subsidised diesel quotas have been received through the BUDI MADANI portal as the government continues the early rollout of the BUDI Diesel initiative ahead of its full implementation on 1 July.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Kewangan, Finance Minister II Senator Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan visited the PETRONAS station along the NKVE towards Damansara to observe the early implementation of the programme.
Treasury Secretary-General Tan Sri Johan Mahmood Merican also accompanied the minister during the visit.
Amir Hamzah said eligible owners of diesel-powered pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles (SUVs) can apply online through the official BUDI MADANI portal for an additional subsidised diesel quota of 100 litres per month.

He added that the second day of the early implementation proceeded smoothly without any technical issues.
The government said the early rollout, which began in Peninsular Malaysia, allows eligible motorists to purchase subsidised diesel at RM2.15 per litre under a flexible quota of up to 200 litres before the price is adjusted to RM2.10 per litre from Wednesday.
The Ministry of Finance said it will continue monitoring the implementation to ensure the initiative is carried out smoothly ahead of its nationwide rollout. – The Capital Post.
