58 new Covid-19 deaths

PETALING JAYA: The health ministry reported 58 Covid-19 deaths yesterday.

The death toll now stands at 29,349, according to its GitHub database.

Eight of the deaths were classified as brought-in-dead (BID) cases.

Selangor topped the list with 13 deaths. This was followed by Sarawak (12), Perak (7), Johor and Kelantan (6), Kedah and Terengganu (4), Melaka and Kuala Lumpur (2), and Pahang and Sabah (1).

There were no deaths reported in Negeri Sembilan, Perlis, Penang, Labuan and Putrajaya.

As of midnight last night, there were 61,760 active cases, including 534 in intensive care units (ICU), 263 of whom require respiratory assistance.

There were also 7,348 recoveries reported, bringing the total number of those discharged to 2,419,743.

The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia now stands at 2,510,852-FMT
