PETALING JAYA: The health ministry reported 64 Covid-19 deaths yesterday, down from 65 previously.

The death toll stands at 34,664.
According to the ministry’s GitHub database, there were 24,316 new cases, compared with 22,491 the day before. They comprised 24,019 local cases and 297 imported cases.
Eighteen of the deaths were classified as brought-in-dead cases.
Johor reported the most number of fatalities with 11, followed by Perak (9), Kedah and Selangor (8 each), Melaka (5), Negeri Sembilan, Pahang and Sarawak (4 each), Terengganu (3), Kelantan, Penang, Sabah (2 each) and Perlis and Kuala Lumpur (1 each).

There were no deaths in Labuan and Putrajaya.
The number of active cases is 247,603, with 6,019 hospitalised. There are 313 patients in intensive care units (ICUs), with 194 requiring ventilation.
There were also 25,512 recoveries yesterday.
The total number of Covid-19 cases stands at 4,079,242.-FMT
