JOHOR BARU 2 April 2026 (The Capital Post) – Police have detained a 54-year-old man suspected of committing indecent exposure in front of two young girls in an incident that reportedly occurred in Bandar Baru Uda.
Johor Baru North district police chief Assistant Commissioner Radin Ramlan Radin Tahan said the suspect was arrested in Masai, Pasir Gudang, at around 11pm on April 1 following a report lodged by a 33-year-old local man.
According to the police, the complainant claimed the victims were his 12-year-old daughter and 10-year-old niece. Investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly called the girls over while sitting in his car and asked them for directions to a toilet before exposing himself.
Authorities also noted that a video believed to show the incident circulating on social media had drawn public attention after it was uploaded to the Community Roda Johor Facebook page.

The suspect has since been remanded to assist investigators as police continue gathering evidence related to the case.
The investigation is being conducted under Section 15(a)(i) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which deals with non-physical sexual assault or exploitation involving minors. If convicted, the offence carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison, a fine of up to RM20,000, or both.
Police urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour that could endanger children or other vulnerable individuals.-The Capital Post
