PUTRAJAYA 21 April 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Malaysian government has clarified that its neutral diplomatic stance does not mean it is passive on matters involving national sovereignty and strategic interests.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof stressed that Malaysia continues to actively safeguard its sovereignty while maintaining a balanced and non-aligned approach in international relations.

He said the country’s foreign policy remains guided by principles of peace, mutual respect and non-interference, but this does not prevent Malaysia from taking firm positions when national interests are at stake.

Fadillah added that Malaysia will continue to engage with global partners through diplomacy while ensuring that decisions affecting security, economic stability and territorial integrity are handled decisively.
