Bintulu 22 April 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Sarawak Customs Department has uncovered contraband goods valued at almost RM2 million during a raid on a warehouse in Bintulu, marking another major enforcement success against smuggling activities in the state.
Authorities said the operation was conducted following intelligence-led monitoring, leading officers to inspect the premises where a large quantity of untaxed and illegally stored items was discovered. The seized goods are believed to include various types of contraband intended for distribution in the local market.
Sarawak Customs officials stated that the case reflects ongoing efforts to dismantle smuggling networks operating through industrial and storage facilities across the region. The department has intensified surveillance and coordinated operations with other enforcement agencies to curb illegal trade activities.
