Kuala Lumpur 22 April 2026 (The Capital Post) – His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, has extended a personal contribution to assist families affected by the devastating fire in Kampung Bahagia, Sandakan, offering support to ease the burden of those impacted by the disaster.
According to Istana Negara, the contribution will be channelled through Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor (YSIJ), which has been instructed to coordinate with the Sabah state government to ensure that aid is properly delivered to all affected families.

His Majesty expressed sympathy for the victims, noting that many families had lost their homes in the fire and urging them to remain strong in facing the hardship. He also conveyed his prayers for their resilience during this difficult period.
The blaze, which occurred in the water village area of Kampung Bahagia, destroyed around 1,000 homes and affected more than 9,000 residents, making it one of the largest fire incidents in the area in recent years.
Authorities continue to coordinate relief efforts as displaced families receive assistance from both state and federal channels alongside royal contributions.-The Capital Post
