Anwar Hails Agong’s Leadership at Birthday Celebration

KUALA LUMPUR, 2 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has reaffirmed the MADANI Government’s commitment to upholding Malaysia’s constitutional monarchy, parliamentary democracy and inclusive development during celebrations marking the Official Birthday of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Anwar said he and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, attended the Ceremonial Audience and the Investiture Ceremony for Federal Orders, Stars and Medals held at Istana Negara in conjunction with the national celebration.

In a message shared on his official Facebook page, the Prime Minister said Malaysia continues to move forward in an orderly and confident manner under the reign of His Majesty, guided by the principles of Constitutional Monarchy and Parliamentary Democracy.

He described the stability of the MADANI Government as being rooted in the loyalty, unity and collective determination of Malaysians to build the nation despite global challenges, including geopolitical uncertainties and economic pressures stemming from conflicts in the Middle East and broader economic volatility.

Anwar said the government remains committed to strengthening initiatives that ensure fair and equitable distribution of development and prosperity across all states and territories, with particular emphasis on assisting low-income and marginalised communities.

He added that such efforts would continue to be enhanced under the guidance and patronage of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to ensure that no segment of society is left behind in the nation’s development agenda.

The Prime Minister also expressed the government’s and the people’s appreciation for the wisdom and leadership of His Majesty, describing the King as a symbol of national unity, stability and dignity.

The annual celebration of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s Official Birthday is among the nation’s most significant royal events, featuring ceremonial proceedings and the conferment of federal honours in recognition of distinguished service and contributions to the country.

Anwar concluded by extending his highest respects to His Majesty and praying for the continued wellbeing, prosperity and sovereignty of the nation under the royal institution. – The Capital Post.
