KOTA KINABALU, 16 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of National Unity, through the Department of National Unity and National Integration (JPNIN), today organised the National Harmony Dialogue 2026 as part of ongoing efforts to foster interfaith understanding and strengthen social cohesion in Malaysia.
The dialogue was officiated by National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang.
According to a Facebook post by Kementerian Perpaduan Negara, the programme provides a structured, inclusive and respectful platform for interaction among Malaysia’s multi-religious communities, particularly university students, while serving as a safe space for the open exchange of views.
The ministry said promoting harmony among followers of different faiths remains one of its key priorities under the Harmoni MADANI initiative, in line with the national aspiration of building a united, inclusive and prosperous society under the Malaysia MADANI framework.

Speaking at the event, Aaron said dialogue plays a crucial role in bridging diversity and strengthening unity in a multicultural and multi-religious nation such as Malaysia.
“In the context of Malaysia’s diverse religious and cultural landscape, dialogue is the bridge that connects diversity to unity. Interfaith dialogue is a communication process that enables communities of different faiths to know one another, understand, respect and build trust,” he said.
The National Harmony Dialogue 2026 is expected to further strengthen mutual understanding and encourage constructive engagement among participants, reinforcing efforts to preserve national unity amid Malaysia’s rich cultural and religious diversity. – The Capital Post
