Deputy IGP Receives Courtesy Visit from Japan National Public Safety Commission

KUALA LUMPUR, 16 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – Deputy Inspector-General of Police (IGP), DIG Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, today received a courtesy visit from a delegation of the Japan National Public Safety Commission led by its member, H.E. Akiyoshi Hitomi, at the IGP Guest Room, Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Headquarters, Bukit Aman.

According to the Royal Malaysia Police, the visit aimed to strengthen strategic cooperation between PDRM and Japanese enforcement agencies in combating cross-border crimes, particularly fraud and transnational organised crime.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the current crime landscape, emerging trends and the modus operandi of cross-border fraud syndicates, while exploring ways to enhance investigative cooperation through the sharing of risk information, investigative assistance, suspect tracing and the coordination of enforcement actions.

The discussions reflected the continued commitment of Malaysia and Japan to reinforcing international cooperation in tackling cross-border crime, while enhancing security and social well-being in both countries.

Also present were PDRM Management Department director and Malaysia Police Secretary, DCP Dato’ Mohamad Noor Yusof Ali, ACP of International Relations at the Bukit Aman Management Department, ACP Loh Pey Pey, as well as members of the Japan National Public Safety Commission delegation. – The Capital Post
