Deputy Minister Launches Malaysian Premiere of “A Letter to Grandma”

KUALA LUMPUR, 16 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Tuan Chiew Choon Man today officiated the special screening of the film “A Letter to Grandma” at TGV Cinemas, Suria KLCC.

According to a Facebook post by Kementerian Pelancongan, Seni dan Budaya Malaysia, the film highlights the history of migration among earlier generations and underscores the role of culture in fostering mutual understanding and preserving shared heritage.

Speaking at the event, Chiew said tourism and cultural exchanges continue to strengthen friendship and cooperation between Malaysia and China.

He noted that films such as “A Letter to Grandma” play an important role in promoting cultural appreciation and reinforcing people-to-people ties between the two countries.

Also present were MOTAC Deputy Secretary-General Chua Choon Hwa and senior ministry officials.
