KAJANG, 26 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – A total of 318 officers from the Malaysian Prisons Department were honoured with the 2025 Excellent Service Award (APC) during the second session of the department’s annual recognition ceremony.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Dalam Negeri (KDN), the recipients comprised personnel from the Prisons Department headquarters, Selangor Prison and Negeri Sembilan Prison in recognition of their outstanding performance, dedication and commitment to public service.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail officiated the ceremony and presented certificates and awards to the recipients.
In his address, Saifuddin congratulated the award recipients and commended their commitment to ensuring the Malaysian Prisons Department continues to deliver excellence in carrying out its responsibilities.

He also praised the department’s ongoing transformation, particularly its holistic rehabilitation approach that focuses on character development, spiritual values and personal reform among inmates.
Among the initiatives highlighted was the department’s programme to produce huffaz among prison prospects, which aims to promote positive behavioural change through religious education, moral development and self-improvement while preparing inmates for successful reintegration into society.
The annual APC ceremony reflects the department’s appreciation for employees who have demonstrated professionalism, integrity and dedication in strengthening Malaysia’s correctional services. – The Capital Post.
